Big Cat Classic – Oct 4th Competition
This is an update to my Peak Week Post from last week (click to read).
This past Saturday I competed in my first body building contest of the season, my 4th competition overall. I cannot say enough good things about how the show (Big Cat Classic in Allentown, PA) was organized and run. I said some of this on Instagram and FB over the weekend but it is worth repeating. The team did an amazing job and I am happy I was able to participate. I felt that everyone really took care of the athletes and I appreciated the little things they did for the audience like announce each division on stage and explain certain aspects of the show that the audience might not be familiar with. Everything started exactly on time… When they said prejudging would start at 10am, the first competitor was on stage at 10:00am exactly. Never seen that done. Another aspect that was a great addition was how they chose to open the night show at 5pm. The evening started with a parade; each of the 130 competitors presented themselves one by one (my pic is below). Such a great idea and a great show! I appreciate how friendly and helpful everyone was and could not ask for more… well maybe first place 😉
Speaking of placings, I really cannot complain and I am proud of how well I did. Especially considering I woke up with a cold on Friday morning and was afraid of my nose running away while on stage! I held it together the best I could but I think you can see it a little in my face! I competed in 2 classes. Bikini Open which was split up into height classes and Bikini Novice which included athletes who had never previously placed 1st in a show. Bikini Novice was not broken up into height classes. *drum roll* I placed 2nd in Bikini Open and 3rd in Bikini Novice. I received great feedback from the judges on my overall appearance, posing and physique; I am eager to get back into my prep and knock the next shows out the park (next month). Here are some photos from Saturday! (click for larger view)… In the coming week the show photographers will be posting their pix so i should have more to share soon. 🙂
