Detoxify Yourself
I have often been asked for my opinion on juices cleanses, detoxes, colonics etc and I have always stated that I believe that striving for good nutrition everyday is way better than a temporary fast, cleanse or detox program or procedure.
Our bodies come equipped with their own detoxification system of specialized organs constantly working to gain homeostasis. Our digestive, lymphatic and respiratory systems are always at work to remove unnecessary toxins from our body. At the same time, our bodies are constantly repairing, building and replacing cells; cells that are the building block for everything in our body and the raw materials for this building process come from the foods that we eat. We literally are what we eat. A temporary fast, detox, cleanse will not undo months or years of unhealthy eating and any weight loss as of result is temporary and not sustainable. I think the thought process behind starting a cleanse or detox means you are on the right track of being more concerned about your health but I encourage you to think beyond a quick fix or instant results in favor of long lasting lifestyle shift.
